Although I did not plan on working in the communications field after graduation, the seminar in writing and mass communications has helped me to gain some technical mastery of several computer programs, such as Adobe InDesign, Macromedia DreamweaverMX and Adobe Photoshop. In addition to technical skills, this seminar has given me a good idea of what happens in the fast-paced world of communications. Whether it is work in the advertising industry, publishing industry or work with computers, I am confident that I now have the skills to succeed in any facet of the communications field.

I feel as if my work in this seminar got off to a slow start but I also feel as if I worked hard to get back on track. I took advantage of the professor’s office hours and classmates offering to help. Each project I completed, either in groups or individually, has my total confidence and, while I know that I have much to learn in the communications field and that my work this semester was not perfect, I feel that a whole new world of job opportunities has been opened to me by taking this seminar.
